Praise for the Book. "Future generations will wonder in bemused amazement that the early twenty-first century's developed world went into hysterical panic over a globally averaged temperature increase of a few tenths of degree, and, on the basis of gross exaggerations of highly uncertain computer projections combined into implausible chains of inference, proceeded to contemplate a roll-back of the industrial age." Dr. Richard S. Lindzen, Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Atmospheric Sciences, MIT; member of the National Academy of Sciences; and former lead author, UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. "Finally someone has written a definitive resource to debunk global warming alarmism." Senator James Inhofe (R, Okla.), former chairman of the Environment & Public Works Committee. "This accessible book will arm you to cut through the hot air in this ongoing national debate." Dr. Fred Singer, former director of the U.S. Weather Satellite Service; professor emeritus of environmental sciences, University of Virginia. The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming takes a hard-headed, realistic look at both the science and the politics of the issue." Roger Helmer, member of European Parliament; American Legislative Exchange Council 2006 International Legislator of the year. |

“This [Global Warming] is the dream issue for environmentalists, socialists and old time communists who have turned Green to Red. Global issues, they say, demand global solutions, thereby bypassing the “irritating obstacles posed by sovereignty and democratic decision making”. “Worldwide de-industrialization is absolutely critical if we are to save the planet". Forget the poor and starving people around the world. Maniacal green opposition to nuclear plants and dams, the best ways to cut CO2 emissions, guarantees that cutting emissions requires cutting energy. Control over energy means control over the economy … and your life as you know it. The book is sprinkled with tidbits, little vignettes highlighted in grey, that are enlightening, and sometimes humorous. Examples: “I got the impression that instead of going out to shoot birds, I should go out and shoot the kids who shoot birds.” Paul Watson, Greenpeace co-founder. “The white race is the cancer of human history. It is the white race and it alone—its ideologies and inventions—which eradicates autonomous civilizations wherever it spreads, which has upset the ecological balance of the planet, which now threatens the very existence of life itself.” Susan Sontag. “Current signs, some of them visible to the layman as well as the scientist, indicate that we have been watching an ice age approach for some time without realizing what we are seeing. … Scientists predict that it will cause great snows which the world hasn’t seen since the last ice age thousands of years ago.” Betty Friedan, “the Coming Ice Age”, Harper’s September 1958. Global Warming is seen as the next “Tobacco” where lawsuits will force companies to fork up profits and cede control to lawyers and the government. Horner provides a list of the top ten global warming myths … and explains why they are myths … not facts. He establishes that most greenhouse gasses are not manmade, but come naturally from nature. Horner also explains why there is no consensus. One tidbit from the book shows that the 2600 people touted as global warming experts by the environmental group Ozone Action, include a plastic surgeon, two landscape architects, one hotel administrator, a gynecologist, seven linguists, and one whose background was traditional Chinese medicine. For those with an engineering or scientific background or interest, there are ample charts and graphs depicting everything from sea level rise to temperatures across the globe. This book will give you the facts and information you need to discuss this issue with your friends and neighbors. |
