The Skeptical Environmentalist Measuring the Real State of the World By
Bjorn Lomborg |
Lomborg begins by describing the litany of environmental bad news, about our ever worsening environment. He then goes on to describe why the environment is actually getting better ... not worse. He goes into exhaustive detail to explain why pollution, acid rain, indoor air pollution, allergies and asthma, water pollution, and whether we are running out of space. In general, Lomborg describes a world where we should be optimistic about our future. A significant part of the book is spent on global warming. He is clear that the Kyoto Protocol is not worth the effort and, in fact, could easily divert funds from more pressing issues. Lomborg's facts are well documented with over eighty pages of notes. This is a tour de force. |
